New Procedures for 2024 School Year

Parents,

The new school year is almost here. You can feel the energy on campus. As we begin a new school year, here are some procedural changes that we wanted you to be aware of.

Poplar Fence and Gatehouse Construction

We wanted to update you on the progress of the Poplar Avenue security entrance and fencing project. We are thrilled to share that we are making significant strides toward the start of construction. The brick for the future guardhouse, columns, and monument entrance has already been secured. While we hoped to begin construction earlier in the summer, we encountered a few delays, as is common for a project of this scope. These delays were due to lead times on materials and the process of obtaining a state permit for construction along Poplar Ave. That said, we are on the verge of beginning the project. Please look for future communications about the start of construction.

Car Decals

At the back-to-school parent meetings, each family will receive two windshield decals. Please place these on the lower corner of the driver side on your windshield. If you need additional decals, please contact Katy Creech, Administrative Assistant for Early Childhood or Ashleigh Campbell, Administrative Assistant for Elementary

Carpool

We will begin the school year following the existing carpool maps.

Once construction on the fence and gatehouse are underway, there will be changes in morning and afternoon carpool patterns.

We will send new maps of traffic flow once construction begins.

Communication: Text Messaging and Emails

Beginning this year, we are adding an additional number for text message communication with parents.

We now have two phone numbers for text messaging:

• One for emergency use only (833–942–4355)
• Parents are pre-subscribed
• One for periodic updates on weather closings, reminders of deadlines, and other newsworthy updates (833–942–5853)
• Parents need to opt-in to receive these messages

You can download our updated vCard to add all of these numbers to your phone’s contacts.
